The co-ordit team left Snetterton on a high with Dave Hallett high siding out of the Russell chicane and Richard Cooper saving the best till last with a podium finish.
Richard knew his last race of the day was now down to him to get the team leaving snetterton on high so in true cooper form he stepped up tot he challenge. Richard had a front row start between the Padgett Honda’s of Brogan and McGuinness and was soon clear that it would be between the front row as they broke away from the field. The superstock race is turning out to be the best to watch as Seeley and Brogan battled for the lead whilst Richard stayed on the back with McGuinness keeping up in 4th. With the 2 ahead of Cooper diving under each other it allowed John to get on the back of Richard and make a move on the penultimate lap. Richard held his nerve and took 3rd position back on the last lap and secured his podium place to the line.
Dave Hallett has been having a few difficulties with his Seaton Bike but now that the engine has been rebuilt and a problem with the fuel pump sorted Dave as been able to take the race to the other Cup riders. He qualified 3rd place in the cup and was running a strong race pace until the rear let go as he pushed to get the drive out of the last chicane. The crash stopped the race and we feared the worst as he landed heavily but after being checked over he has nothing broken but was severly winded and his anckle tendons are bruised.
Glenn Irwin, 19 year old son of the legendary Irish racer Alan Irwin was given a chance to compete in the highly competitive British Superstock 600 class on board the Co-ordit Yamaha R6. It was amassive ask of the teenager who had never riden the R6 or had any experience of the track. With only limited practice time he worked well with Kev Tompkin (co-ordit crew chief) to get the right suspension setup. Glenn qualified 1.7 off pole and really charged hard in the race but made a few mistakes which cost him the position he deserved.
The team prepares for the long trip up North to Knockhill where the superstock riders will have 2 races to make up for not riding at the Mallory Park meeting.
