Racing on Hold…

It is with great regret that we have to announce that the Team will not be undertaking the BMW contract to run a two man team in the superstocks. The deal was on the table and ready to be signed but it has taken time which prevented us from maximising what should have been a very attractive marketing/sponsorship opportunity.

Whilst we appreciate the support we have from our sponsors there was still a short fall that might have been filled during the season but it would have meant taking a risk. Co-ordit will not take sponsors and riders money with a risk of not fullfilling its commitments, so have unfortunatly decided to step back this year.

A huge thankyou to all the co-ordit team who have made racing such a pleasure over the last few years, together with the bsb paddock, race clubs, riders and marshals it has been emotional!

2009 Review

News No Comments »

What a fantastic year 2009 turned out to be with Team Co-ordit winning the Supersport Cup with Sam Lowes, Richard Cooper finishing 5th place in the superstock 1000 and Phil Bevan champion of both Open and Powerbike championships with the NGRRC.

Starting the year with a full squad of 3 riders in 3 bsb championships our main focus was with Richard Cooper on the all new Yamaha R1 in the superstock 1000 class. Leon Hunt was contracted to compete in the 600 stock but withdrew during the season with lack of funding and was replaced by Glenn Irwin then with Dave Hallett, who stepped down from supersport and eventually had to retire due to injuries. Bruce Wilson had a brief ride with us in the stock 1000 switching from the Astro team which was repeated later by Sam Lowes who completed the season in the co-ordit livery and ultimately gave us a championship win. Having Sam and his brother Alex in the team was real fun and captivated our phrase of professional fun.

The highlight of the year has got to be Mallory Park where we entered Richard Cooper in the main championship in the privateers cup on our 2007 Yamaha R1. Free practice results made the rest of the paddock sit up and take notice and qualifying saw Richard put the bike on the front row. Richard unfortunately was involved in a collision with Karl Harris at the first corner and crashed out which might have been a a good omen as shortly afterwards Josh Brookes caused a massive crash at the hairpin. Race 2 was in wet conditions and Cooperman made a break and led the race before torrential rain stopped the race with Richard dropping back to 5th place but winning the privateer class.

The whole team has worked relentlessly throughout the year especially as we have been attending both NGRRC and EMRA rounds in between the bsb dates to keep the riders on the pace and get a setup ahead of the bsb rounds. Club racing is where we are from and its where we made the foundations of the team so its great to be part and actively support the clubs with the Co-ordit Relay. Congratulations to Leon Jeacocks and Josh Day who now become the first winners of the co-ordit relay with Josh joining us as a co-ordit rider in the 2010 superstock 600 championship. Phil Bevan has been in supreme form and has truly deserved both Open and Powerbike championships together with the outright lap record at Pembrey and club record at Brands Hatch. Kevin Pepper our newcomer rider impressed the team with his continual improvement but unfortunately had a high side at Angelsey putting him out for the rest of the season.

A massive thank you to all the team, riders, sponsors, race officials and marshals that have helped make 2009 racing such a success for Co-ordit Performance.

The co-ordit team was back in the British Superbikes once again with Richard Cooper on the Co-ordit Performance Yamaha R1 superbike to contest in the Cup championship as we did at Mallory earlier on in the year with a front row start. Having qualified on the 4th row and top cup rider it was all to do in the race as the times between all the riders laps where very close. A good start was cancelled out as Walker made contact on the second corner to push Richard wide losing 5 places. Richard was now back in the mix of the cup contenders and just missed out on a podium finishing 4th.

The best was saved to last as it was decided to withdraw Richard from the second superbike race to concentrate on the superstock championship and getting the third place back from McGuiness. The superstock races have proved to be the best racing for the spectators all year and this one went the same way. There was obviously no team orders with the Padgett riders of Brogan and Mcguiness as they battled for first position in a leading pack of 4 with Adam Jenkinson and Cooper hard on their heels waiting to pounce. It was a mistake by Brogan running into the back of McGuiness and crashing out that allowed Jenkinson and Cooper through. Jenkinson made off and it was down to Cooper and McGuiness for the remaining podium places. Cooper rode the wheels off the Yamaha but the pace of the honda gave McGuiness the edge to get the second place ahead of Cooper across the line. Another well deserved podium for Richard and the second and third positions of the championship will now be decided at the last round at Oulton Park.

Co-ordit Relay champions

News, Relay championship No Comments »

The first year of the co-ordit relay has seen two up and coming riders gain a helping hand in their prospective racing careers.

Leon Jeacock won the EMRA first stage of the relay and is rewarded with a years free entry in the 2010 NGRRC 600 club championship.

Josh Day has won the NGRRC 600 championship second stage of the relay and becomes a Co-ordit rider for 2010 competing in the junior 600 superstock championship. Josh’s reward is an entry paid season on a co-ordit 600 race prepared bike with the guidance of team owner Pete Bradshaw and the full backing of the co-ordit racing team. Josh has already competed in the bsb class this year but with the backing of the co-ordit team can make a strong challenge for the 2010 title.

Co-ordit back in the championship

News 1 Comment »

Co-ordit Performance will be out again on the superbike to compete in the Mirror.co.uk Cup championship this weekend at the 11th round of the BSB championship at Silverstone race circuit. Richard Cooper who last time out at Mallory Park set the team alight by putting the bike on the front row and led the race for 3 laps before finishing in 5th place. The orders are ’same again’ as we focus on getting the Cup podium top spot and also mixing it up amongst the factory teams. It will be a busy time for RC as he still has the job of getting back 3rd place in the superstock 1000 championship. Sam Lowes will be away on WSS duty but will return to take the BSS cup championship at the last round held at Oulton Park.

Lowes to reach a high with Co-ordit

News 1 Comment »

Sam Lowes will contest the remainder of the 2009 season starting this weekend at Cadwell Park with Team Co-ordit onboard his Honda in full Co-ordit 118 livery. Sam with the full support of the Co-ordit team is focused on maintaining his winning form in the BSS cup championship which he presently leads by eight points, this will enable him to also concentrate on the exciting opportunities offered in the World Superbikes paddock where his brother Alex currently races in. Pete Bradshaw commented “It’s great to have such a young talented rider with us for the rest of the season, Sam’s a great lad to have around (or is it Alex sometimes?) and it is a compliment to the whole team that riders of his ability are turning to Co-ordit. Our aim will be to ensure that he finishes the season on a high with the championship.” Sam will take the 118 number vacated by Dave Hallett who has swapped from his seaton supersport bike to race the co-ordit R6 in the Superstock championship.

Phil Bevan - Championship winner!

News No Comments »

Team Co-ordit rider Phil Bevan has secured both Open and Powerbike championships at the NGRRC meeting held at Anglesey over the weekend. Phil has been in dominant form all year and the championships are just reward for the effort and commitment he has shown throughout. Phil has had the company of fellow co-ordit rider Richard Cooper to spur him on to getting lap records and with the close racing all season it would be good to see Phil return to the bsb paddock as he clearly has the pace to run top 10.

Co-ordit newcomer rider Kevin Pepper turned astronaut had a massive high side during the test day on Friday which red flagged the session. Thankfully the marshals and medics where quick to act and he was taken to hospital (twice) and diagnosed with a fracture to his sternum and damage to his lower back. He returned to the track to show support to the rest of the co-ordit riders and the Team wishes him a swift return to the track.

Richard Cooper won all the main races but was unable to catch Phil in the points for the championship, instead set about showing the rest of the paddock the talent he has on the stock bike and set a new circuit lap record.

Congratulations also goes out to Josh Day who won the 600 and co-ordit relay championships. Josh will now be offered the ride on the Co-ordit Yamaha R6 in the 2010 BSB 600 superstock championship.

Sorry goes out to Shaun Hennessy as the Co-ordit team did him a bit of damage over the weekend by first braking his tandem when Pete Bradshaw and Richard Cooper took it for a spin around the track and then Phil Bevan lost the front of his R1 and slid off taking Shaun with him in the power bike final. Sorry!!

Thanks to all the riders for a great weekend and we would recommend any rider to race the Anglesey circuit.

Biggest crowd yet at Brands BSB

News No Comments »

Team co-ordit gave a solid performance in front of 53,000 fans at the Brands Hatch round of the British superbikes. Richard Cooper was unlucky with the red flags coming out twice in his race resulting in him just missing out of a podium finish. Richard remains in third place in the superstock championship.

Dave Hallett having moved to the co-ordit 600 stock bike had the misfortune to highside during qualifying resulting in a trip to the hospital with a bruised liver and a knock to the ankle he previously broke at snetterton earlier this year.

Bruce Wilson made steady progress throughout the weekend but was struggling to find grip around the circuit but last minute changes had him faster in the race than qualifying, unfortunately a clip came loose on the fairing which brought his race to a premature end.

The team are next out for some fun racing with the NGRRC at Angelsey this coming weekendweekend 15-16th August. It will be the first time the club and our riders have riden the circuit so its sure to be entertaining for the first few laps. Phil Bevan is leading the championships but he will have his bsb team mate Cooper alongside which always provides close racing. If its raining they both might be looking over there shoulder to see if the team boss is close on their heels!
