2009 line-up

News No Comments »

Plans for the 2009 season are starting to come together now. The Co-ordit racing team are delighted to have secured Richard Cooper to compete in the superstock championship on the 09 Yamaha R1. Richard scored our best results in 2008 with a win at Snetterton in the R1 cup, a podium at the last round at brands and a solid 6th in the superstocks. His best performance was at the ‘Stars of Darley’ where he rode the superbike to a convincing win ahead of McGuiness.

We are still in negotiations with another rider so we have a 2man line-up in the superstock and have a co-ordit bike out in the supersport championship.

The Performance centre has taken a little longer than expected but the new website is almost complete and we are starting to get a stock of bikes. If you need your bike servicing or are interested in race preparing then give us a call. Click on the tab above to see the latest.

Karl Harris rides for Co-ordit at Race of the Year

Karl Harris takes 2nd place in the Race of the Year at Mallory Park. With Chris Burns on baby duty Pete Bradshaw took the opportunity to get Harris on the co-ordit superbike and see how close he could push Tom Sykes. Riding on Dunlop’s, Karl just missed out on pole by 0.05 seconds and showed just how close the bike could get to the works suzuki. Both Tom and Karl smashed the track record with Harris snapping at the heels of Sykes for 18 laps. It was the back markers who finally gave Sykes the edge and left Harris to end with a stand up wheelie over the line only just putting it down before Gerrards!

Dan Hegarty had a surprise swap of bikes on the grid when his R1 developed a miss fire and was about to retire from the grid until Pete Bradshaw gave up his ride to give the stranded rider his 118 co-ordit R1. Dan a co-ordit rider in the R1 Cup at cadwell repaid Pete with a blistering ride coming out of the first corner in second place between Sykes and Harris before having to give way to Harris and Richards finishing just off the podium in 4th place.

Phil Bevan the co-ordit rider in the bsb superstocks and Dave Wardle a co-ordit rider in the 2hr endurance series had a race long duel, both constantly trading places, with Phil getting the chequered flag ahead of Dave. Dave showed he had not lost his appetite and speed by finishing 2nd in the following 1300 open race.

Sam Middlemas riding in the 600 class slipped off entering edwinas on the warm up lap due to cold tyres after being held for the Race of the year parade. He returned to the pits to find that he had snapped the footrest, forcing him to miss the start and ended up being a spectator to a race which could of sealed the championship for him.

It was the perfect way to end the season, the win at the Stars of Darley with Richard Cooper and the second place podium with Harris at Race of the Year, shows the pedigree of the co-ordit superbike team.

Race of the Year

Race of the Year No Comments »

Co-ordit had hoped to field up to 7 riders in the last main superbike event at their local friendly track. Chris Burns has been given the chance to compete on the superbike but with the birth delayed theres a strong possibility that he will have to consentrate on home matters. All the team at co-ordit wish him well and hope that he can make the day. Dave wardle was to make the return to Mallory but his father has been taken ill so finger crossed all will be alright for Dave. Richard Cooper has been drafted over to take part in the daytona endurance with BMW so it will leave Phil Bevan, Pete Bradshaw and Sam Middlemas to front the co-ordit team. Its our local track and a club that Co-ordit have sponsored for some time now so we look forward to seeing you there. Other riders from the bsb paddock will be Tom Sykes, Tristran Palmer and Dave Johnson.

BRANDS THE FINAL ROUND BSB

News No Comments »

Well we finished the season in glorious sunshine and a podium. Our first year in bsb has seen us compete in superbike, superstock 1000, superstock 600 and the R1 cup! Not bad for the first season and one which we have had 8 riders in the bsb paddock and 2 riders competing in the Hottrax 2hr endurance championship under team co-ordit. The R1 cup has seen the most mix of riders with Phil Bevan, John Ingram, Richard Cooper, Dan Hegarty, Jimmy Storrar, Victor Cox and even team owner Pete Bradshaw. It has been a massive challenge which couldn’t have been achieved without the whole team working together, so its a massive thanks from the boss to all the crew for their time, energy and commitment to getting us where we are today.

Cooperman gets Co-ordits 1st superbike win

News, Stars at Darley No Comments »

Co-ordit got their first win on the superbike at the Stars of Darley as Richard Cooper dominated the racing at the annual superbike event. John McGuinness 7 times TT winner had no answer for the co-ordit rider onboard the Yamaha R1 superbike. Practise was damp and we soon had to put the board out to bring cooperman in as he was spinning and sliding the bike on the stops out of the final corner.

Silverstone test

News No Comments »

The co-ordit team got back into race mode with a test session in preparation for the next BSB round . The team had a lot of interest from the riders and teams which had taken the only chance to ride the international circuit. The testing went really well and Richard got a good base setting for the stocker and the gearing that the R1 cup bike will run. richard also had a chance to ride the superbike to compare it with the BMW he had tested last month. It was great to get out on track again and even Pete Bradshaw couldn’t resist having a play on the superbike. Co-ordit will field Richard Cooper in both the henderson R1 Cup and the superstock class whilst Sam Middlemas will compete in the stock 600 in the team colours.

BSB Croft

With our withdrawal from the Superbike championship it was left to the R1 Cup ride to promote Co-ordit. Richard was on BMW duty racing at the 24hr Bol’Dor endurance which Pete Bradshaw took advantage of and went over to get to know the BMW team.

Victor Cox had been given the reins to see if he could put the bike on the podium which he did in great style. John Kirkham and Ben Wilson had pulled away and it was the fight for the remaining podium place that had the tv cameras fixed on. Victor had a race long battle for 3rd place with the talented Alistair Seeley. Victor being faster through the sweeping sections but lacked the drive out of the last hairpin, it was very exciting to watch and it was down to the last corner when Seeley ran wide getting the power down on the exit and momentarily had to back off as he ran onto the grass. Victor had never given up and powered his Yamaha passed to take the chequred flag and the podium.

BSB Cadwell Park

BSB Cadwell Park No Comments »

Cadwell park is one of the most demanding circuits on the race calender, with its narrow track and high speed corners the place most people come to watch is the mountain section. This is where the bikes are propelled up to 2 feet off the ground and its no place for the faint hearted. Qualifying started really good with Dean on a fast pace but a fall entering the goose neck smashed the number 1 bike and debris from the airbox went into the engine. With uncertainty as to the damage to the engine we had to run with just the no.2 bike. The odds were definately against us as Dean crashed the no.2 bike as he pushed the front a little to far after setting his quickest lap. The mechanics had to set about rebuilding the bike and getting the spare engine fitted. After a few laps Dean came in with a mechanical problem and we had no option than to use the engine he had crashed with. Rob Mac’s team ensured that we had the technical support to sort the engine and get it running. Race day was here but after only 2 laps Dean retired to pit lane with a front brake issue. It was not the way i had entended to finish but with saftey in mind i decided to withdraw from the second race.

R1 CUP

Dan Hegarty was given the responsibility of the R1 cup bike as Richard was asked by BMW to test the new Superbike. Dan did a really great job on board getting a well deserved 5th place. This is the opportunity which enables the young talented riders to get noticed and have a bit of action they can see televised.
